Hayley and Tom were married earlier in April this year at a most amazing spot in the Alentejo region of Portugal. Orada is a yoga retreat nestled in the valley of the natural park reservation of Costa Vincentian, near Odemira.
A discreet turn off the highway on Portugal’s west coast, Orada is a 30 min drive on a dirt road, unseen to the eye upon approach, it sits in a valley surrounded by forest. The stone houses, water wells, natural springs and its organic vegetable gardens all contribute to it’s rustic charm. As we wondered around this vast tranquil space we came across the creek that runs though the property, dirt paths and clearings for Tipis, that are an option for accommodation in the peak season. This beautiful landscape set a very relaxed and bohemian feel to the wedding day.
Hayley and Tom are from the UK. They met in Nashville and have spent some time living in Australia together. They have visited Portugal many times and Orada holds a special place in their hears. For a long time Tom and his best man dreamed of having their own vineyard in the Alentejo country side.
Tom and Hayley’s ceremony was held in the yoga temple. A wood and glass structure that invited all the natural elements in.
