Back in September 2012 Matt + Lena Photography was just a twinkle in our eyes, an exciting new adventure we were embarking on, moving to the Algarve to start our own business, it was a dream on the verge of coming true.
We remember receiving our very fist inquiry on September 15th 2012 from Caroline and Colm, I was so happy when I read the e-mailI, I forgot to breath and nearly fell off my chair! We didn’t want to get our hopes up too much as we knew that no one had heard of us in the Algarve yet, we weren’t even moving there for another couple of months. But we remember exactly when we received Caroline and Colm’s e-mail saying they would like us to be their photographers. We were in the Anthropology shop in Seattle, and I squalled and jumped up and down and ended up buying a really pretty jar to commemorate the moment.
Our very first wedding in the Algarve! Thanks to our briliant friends Luis & Kerry for recommending us.
Caroline and Colm were amazing form the get go. They were so sweet and wonderful we wanted so much to make their wedding day photos incredible. We met for the first time in March for an engagement shoot on Vilamoura beach, it was a windy day and we just finished the shoot in the nick of time before it started to rain. But we knew it would be all sunshine in August!
Over the summer months our little business grew and we do believe that it was due to the gorgeous couple in our photos on our blog. Everybody loved the photographs and left such great comments, people started to notice us.
We really feel like we owe them both a lot, and we are so happy to be sharing their wedding story. The wedding was so much prettier then we could have imagined. There was so much loveliness from the floral robes to the stunning wedding dress and of course all the effort and style that was put in by Caroline, Colm and the bridesmaids in designing the cool details, the invites, the menus, centerpiece numbers, dozens and dozens of pom poms, awesome cocktail straws & flags, the around the world seating plan and the cute signage.
Everything was so beautiful but the most beautiful were all the sweet people we met that day.
We wish them both all the happiness in the world.
