As art imitates life, things nearly never go to plan but often times you find yourself pleasantly surprised by how well all things turn out in the end!
We were well on our our way, I’d say ‘nearly there’ not a cloud in the sky. A beautiful day. When we get a call from Jess telling us that she’s standing at our meeting destination and it is grey and overcast. We looked at each other in disbelief ( well…Lena looked at me, I didn’t actually look at her, I was driving, that would be dangerous. )
We originally arranged to do the shoot at Monte Clerigo beach on the west coast, it’s wild and rugged and has a different beauty to the calm seas and coves of the south coast. Wild and rugged are just synonyms for unpredictable and unruly. So there we were, without a plan B, waiting for a sign….And there it was! BURGAO. In blue and white, as road signs are here in the Algarve. A pretty little fishing village on the western part of the south coast.
It was perfect.

We were supper excited to meet Jess and Jim for their engagement session. They are both from Toronto, Canada but have decided to celebrate their wedding next year on the sunshine coast of the Algarve. This French teacher + animator duo were amazing, we can’t wait to photograph their awesome wedding next year!
