Sophie and Duncan were married this Spring in a lakeside ceremony at Monte Rei Resort. The pair have been coming to the Algarve for years and tying the knot in one of their favourite places was a dream come true. Their family and friends gathered in June for a wedding weekend starting with a bbq for the 2 families to meet, which ended up with everyone bursting into song while the wine poured.
It was our first wedding of the 2021 season and we were so excited to capture this beautiful story. There were so many fun and happy moments and a wonderfully emotional atmosphere of these two families meeting and celebrating.
Enjoying the warm Algarve weather, the whole weekend was held outdoors. The ceremony and the alfresco reception overlooked the lake. We had the most amazing pink sunset when we stepped away to explore the venue with the newlyweds and take some portraits. There was continues music and dancing through out the day, from the getting ready to the ceremony’s acoustic set and reception’s jazzy saxophonist, all the way to the crazy and energetic dance floor with the Nicola Silva Band.

While on work-cation in Portugal for the summer, Laura and Ginny got in touch with us to photograph a lifestyles session as part of their personal and business branding for the launch of their online academy. They are based in the UK but their nomadic lifestyle allows them to always be on the go, fulfilling their wanderlust. They started their journey in Lisbon exploring Portugal and eventually made it down to Aljezur in the Algarve. It was a pleasure meeting the two of them and capturing a bit of their work dynamic and friendship.

Michele and Lukasz were married in a small ceremony back home in Poland in 2021. Their honeymoon trip to Portugal was an amazing adventure, exploring the coastline and basking in the Algarve sunshine.
We met up with them for a post wedding portrait session in Lagos. They fell in love with the coves and rock formations of the western Algarve coastline and we opted to do a sunrise session to capture all the beauty and magic.
It was an amazing stroke of luck to have the super moon out that night. The twilight hour just before dawn was such a special and fleeting moment. We captured a few photos before the sunrise and that was just the perfect start to this epically romantic honeymoon session.
I especially loved Michele’s wedding gown pared with white sneakers for our adventure, climbing rocks and walking along clifftops!
We started the session off at Ponte de Piedade, a famous lookout point in Lagos. It was surprising that even though it was only dawn, there were already spectators gathering at this magic spot, ready to view the sunrise. Afterwards we went to Camilo beach just down the road, and after that some more beach hopping along the Lagos cost, led us to some amazing photo spots.

It was so exciting to finally meet Amy and Gui for or their engagement session this Summer.
We got together on one of our favourite west coast beaches in the Algarve and chatted about their wedding day plans as we shot their engagement session. We love the golden hour on the west coast, there is just so much magic here. Amy and Gui are from the UK and love to surf. Their trip to the Algarve was all about exploring the coastline and catching some waves.
We can’t wait to see these guys again next year and capture all the wedding fun!

Matt + Lena were so amazing to work with before, during and after the wedding! They paid so much attention to detail and really listened to ensure we were happy with our pictures. My husband and I came from Canada to get married in the Algarve so we didn't have the chance to meet with Matt + Lena in person ahead of time. I could tell by their pictures (of course they are stunning!!) but also their professionalism, prompt email responses and overall ease of communication that it was going to be a perfect fit! We got married at the Quinta in Cintra and my wife found Matt and Lena somehow on the internet. In all the craziness of organising a wedding, they were one of the few constants. Always organized, and very prepared (they even went on a trip from Alvor to Lisbon to check out the light in the area!). The wedding day was exceptional as they popped up around the place like Ninjas - you will never be able to see them both - making sure to get loads of genuine shots of everyone from dawn til dusk. My husband and I traveled from Toronto to Portugal for our elopement and we were so fortunate that Matt and Lena were available on our wedding day. Throughout the booking process they were quick to respond to emails and set a Skype date to go over all of the logistics for our day, as well as to answer any questions we had - and we had a lot! Matt and Lena were very social and created a comfortable environment which was great since it was just the four of us during the six hour photo shoot. The photos turned out stunning and we have received compliments from everyone who has seen them. The photos really captured the nuance moments throughout the day in a very natural way and we will cherish them forever. Matt and Lena were recommended to us by our wedding planner, Susana Santos. We were sold from the get-go (just take a look at their beautiful pictures!), and meeting them in person only reaffirmed that we had made the right decision. We were a bit iffy about doing an engagement shoot but it was a great idea in the end as we got to be very comfortable with Matt and Lena which made things far easier on the actual wedding day! The pictures are fabulous and a year after our wedding people are still commenting on just how beautiful the photos are. All in all, definitely a great choice and we heartily recommend them to anyone who is getting married! In fact, a couple who were at our wedding ended up booking them for their wedding! :)
