There’s something special about couples who find themselves in the moment and decide to capture it. This destination engagement session on the west coast of the Algarve came together spontaneously, full of energy, and rooted in the experience of being somewhere unforgettable.
The couple had traveled to Portugal to attend a friend’s wedding, one we had the pleasure of photographing. Inspired by their friends and visiting Portugal for the first time, they wanted to preserve how it felt to be there. The wind, the light, the freedom of exploring a new place together. What started as a simple idea quickly turned into an impromptu editorial style couples shoot along one of the Algarve’s most rugged and beautiful beaches on the west coast.
The west coast offers a completely different atmosphere from the more polished beaches further east. Here, the landscape feels raw and untouched. Dramatic cliffs, wild textures, and the constant sound of the Atlantic. It’s a place that invites movement and curiosity, which made it perfect for a couple so playful and connected. Barefoot on the sand, then climbing up onto the clifftops, they embraced the setting fully, letting the environment shape the shoot naturally.
We approached the session in a way that blended direction with spontaneity.
