In fact Anusja & Yoni have been married for 5 years already!

In their vows they promised that every 5 years they would elope again, somewhere new, and renew their vows to celebrate their love – how romantic!!!  We were so excited to meet the pair and be a part of this lovely celebration.

After a sweet clifftop session in traditional Indian wear, we headed to the beach for an intimate ceremony that they set up and decorated themselves – an isle with pictures of family and friends, a lei ceremony and a sand ceremony, including the exchange of rings and vows….it was truly a magical fusion of cultural wedding traditions.

One of our favourite parts was when they revealed that they have written a list – of all the things they wish to accomplish in the next 5 years – their hopes and dreams for their family.  Some were deeply moving and others sweet and comical – a really cool idea!

We love elopements they make couples focus on themselves and the love they share.  We also get to know them so well and really feel like super honoured guests!

We shared some cake and sparkling wine together and Anusja told us stories of India, and their travel there for Anusja to meet her birth mother.  She was adopted in Belgium by two loving parents, but a few years ago she decided to seek out her birth mother, still living in a remote village in India.  It was an emotional reunion and a happy one.  Yoni was there too, and in one of Anusja’s first conversations with her mother, she told her this was the man she was going to marry, her mother gave a blessing and it meant the word to Anusja and Yoni.
