Some wedding invitations say Black Tie Optional, some say Casual Cocktail Attire, this one said “Bring your swimwear we are partying pool side!”
Myriel and Pete loved the idea of a small Summer wedding with close family and friends, enjoying the Algarve weather and having some fun in the sun.
They rented a villa in Alvor with an infinity pool, palm trees for shade and spacious enough to host a fantastic party! They dined alfresco for the evening with traditional Algarve cataplana bubbling in a giant copper clam pot. Champaign flowed and the desert table was full of macaroons, pastel denatas and an array of colourful delicious sweets. The table decor was an eclectic mix of bottles, jars, tea tins and beautiful flowers.
To maximise the time with friends and family Myriel and Pete opted to have a day after session for their bride and groom portraits. We went exploring the cliffs and coves at Tres Irmaos beach for the evening. Make sure to check them out at the end of the post!

Tres Irmaos beach in Alvor is one of our favourites. We love the romantic landscape and exploring the cliff tops and coves with our couples. A day after session is a great way to spend more time with family and friends on the wedding day and still get some amazing portraits taken at a stunning location and beautiful light the next day. Plus getting a chance to wear your amazing wedding dress one more time is a total bonus!
