Joy and Brian are form California and Oregon but met while working in Afghanistan and fell in love with Spain while on vacation in Marbella a few years back. They knew this was going to be the setting for their destination wedding – on the cost overlooking the ocean with Gibraltar and Africa on the horizon.
It was the first week of summer and everyone expected a sunny, hot day. The entire morning it poured with rain with no blue sky in sight. The girls we’re at the salon getting ready and the boys were back in Benahavis at the Colina Del Paraisio. The ceremony was to be at 4 pm, outdoors at the Tiki Tano wedding venue. As 3 pm approached, like magic, the grey clouds disappeared. The day turned out to be beautiful.
In the afternoon there were beams of light in the distance making the landscape majestic, just in time for some awesome portraits in the light drizzle. Joy and Brian were all about making the day super chill and relaxing. We had the best time hanging out.
For us, this was our first wedding outside of Portugal this season. The road trip was super fun. Past Seville we were on a road with endless sunflower fields on each side. Benahavis is a small town in the mountains, it was where we were staying for the wedding. Marbella was just a short drive down the mountain to the coast, we had an awesome time exploring the area. It was a great trip, we’d love to go again!
