Shea and Felix literally tied the knot this summer with a traditional Celtic knot ceremony at their wedding in Caldas de Monchique. They picked a pretty chapel on a hilltop for their romantic and intimate ceremony. Followed by a reception at 1962.
Traditional Algarve fish and shellfish Cataplana was served family style and everyone danced like no one is watching under the ferry lights in the courtyard. It was a hot summer night, perfect for an outdoor party, even some neighbours joined in the fun as the music went late into the night.
The theme of their destination wedding in Portugal was “Diner en Blanc”. All guests were requested to dress in a palette of white, for this summery, laid back, al fresco party!

The Dîner en Blanc concept began in Paris in 1988 when Frenchman François Pasquier invited a group of friends to an elegant outdoor dinner at Bois de Boulogne, asking them to dress in white so they could find each other. Today, Dîner en Blanc is a worldwide event, spanning six continents, in which people flash-gather in a public space and set up a temporary, chic dining area.
. . . Shea’s mom is a baker, she made their pretty wedding cake – by the end of the night it was eaten in its entirety!

Caldas de Monchique is a spa town set in a beautifully wooded ravine in the Monchique Mountains in the Algarve region of Portugal. It has been famous for its waters, which supposedly have healing properties, since Roman times.
The cobbled, tree-shaded main square is surrounded by lovely nineteenth-century buildings and the wooded setting offers a sense of peace, calm and relaxing time in the lap of nature.
