“If you want to know how much I love you, count all the waves in the sea”

We first met Miriam and Miguel for their engagement session last summer on Falesia beach. It was a special place to them because it’s where Miguel proposed, under a giant orange cliff. We instantly connected with these two and as we talked over their plans for their beach wedding in Portugal, we knew we’d have an awesome time shooting it!
Miriam and Miguel are from Holland, but have a close connection to Portugal. Miguel was born here and spent his childhood in the Algarve. They held their ceremony on the pretty Sao Lourenco beach, not far away from their family home – the perfect setting for their reception.
The wedding was an eclectic mix of Dutch and Portuguese traditions of: axe throwing, bow & arrow shooting, flashmobs, chorus singing, bonfires, ping pong matches – and lots of dancing!

. . . the above is actually Miriam’s mom’s dress from her wedding. A new tradition where “the kids” meaning Miriam and her 2 brothers took turns wearing it and swimming in it in the pool the day before!
