DAY TWO of our road trip through the Rocky Mountains with Les and Mel on the way to Lake Louise in Canada was amazing!
We set off from Banff in the morning and our first stop was the Fairmount Banff Springs Hotel to pick up Jeff, Mel’s man of Honour. We walked down to Bow Falls, just loving the scenery at every step. We then drove up the mountain to a great look out point with the famous view of the Fairmont. We finally arrived at Lake Louise just in time for sun set, it was as if all the scenery so far was a warm up for this majestic spot. A great frozen lake surrounded with mountains and even a glacier in the far distance, it was just amazing. The previous week there was an Ice Sculpting competition, the ice castle was the only one still left standing due the crazy winter heat wave of +8 that hit Calgary that week. We were so excited to explore this place! But as night fell we decided to wait till tomorrow.
